Carmello has Mysophobia, which is fear of dirt, germs or contamination, well at least a more mild case. He is very cautious about his own cleanliness and touching others in general. He is very affectionate but his condition gets in the way of him doing a lot of things. He has no problem confronting people and asking them not to touch him. Which sometimes offends people just adding on the troubles of being Mysophobic. If he really likes someone he'd try to put up with them touching him.
